Happy Independence day ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š

A day that's filled with meaning and history. It's a time to look back at the journey our country has taken to reach this point. We remember the struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors who fought against foreign rule and stood together as a nation.

India's past includes different foreign powers like the British, the French, and the Portuguese. The British ruled over most of India, while the French had control over places like Pondicherry and Chandernagore. The Portuguese had influence over places like Goa, Daman, and Diu.

Our journey to freedom was guided by inspiring leaders. Mahatma Gandhi, who believed in peace, gave us the powerful words "Quit India." Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose said, "Give me blood, and I'll give you freedom," which moved millions. Bhagat Singh's strong call "Inquilab Zindabad" and Rani Lakshmibai's promise "Main Apni Jhansi Nahi Dungi" continue to inspire us. Sardar Patel's words "Unity is India's strength; division is its weakness" remind us of our power when united.

When it comes to talking about the logic behind choosing 15 August as a independence day The choice of August 15th for independence was influenced by the fact that the leading party advocating for freedom had been celebrating January 26th as Independence Day since 1930. This was due to the Lahore Resolution passed on that day, marking the demand for complete independence. The original plan was to celebrate Independence Day on January 26th once full independence was achieved. On January 21st, 1947, Mountbatten presented independence details to the British parliament, receiving royal assent on July 4th of the same year. When the British government asked Mountbatten for an independence date, he suggested August 15th, as in 1945, the end of World War II saw Japan's emperor surrender on radio, leading to the cessation of the war. However, the aspiration to celebrate independence on January 26th was not forgotten. After two years of independence, the constitution was drafted and finalized by November, with implementation set for January 26th. This choice aimed to honor the concept of "Poorna Swaraj" (complete independence).

On the eve independence day we must also talk about Our national flag, designed by Pingali Venkayya, has deep meanings. Saffron shows bravery, white stands for peace, and green represents growth. The Ashoka Chakra in the middle represents the cycle of life.

And as a responsible citizen it's my duty to make you understand the basic code of conduct for hoisting the flag on Independence Day in India entails handling with utmost respect. The saffron band must be atop, raised briskly and lowered ceremoniously. It should never touch the ground, be flown at half-mast only during national mourning, and not used for commercial or personal attire purposes. Proper disposal is crucial.

On this occasion We should not forget about Goa, a former Portuguese colony, gained freedom on December 19, 1961. Indian armed forces launched "Operation Vijay" to liberate Goa, Daman, and Diu. After a brief military intervention, these territories were peacefully integrated into India. The liberation marked the end of Portuguese colonial rule in the region.

As we celebrate our independence, let's also remember our duties as Indians. We should be kind, understanding, and work together to build a fair society. We should help our communities and support each other.

With gratitude for those who came before us, let's make India a place of freedom, equality, and progress for generations ahead.

Thank you and Jai Hind!
